Hampton Hood...

This one was a challenge!  Had to rip it all out three times, but in the end it was worth it!  Can't wait to make the next one in charcoal grey!

Some of my favorite Patterns:

I haven't seen a pattern offered through The Velvet Acorn shop on Etsy that I didn't fall in love with!  The shop owner is so creative.  There is something so simplistically sophisticated (how's that for an oxymoron) about her nature-inspired cowls/ hoods/ hats.  I do not make these items en-masse as they are pricier than most, but I am always willing to work with any of her crochet patterns as a special order.

I have recently been asked to crochet a Hampton Hood in adult size and am looking forward to delivering this item!

Well, I guess if I am to believe Ted from WAGM, it is time to start getting busy making mittens and boot cuffs!  I have to admit, I AM NOT a lover of winter, but maybe this crochet addiction will help to make it pass just a little more quickly this year!

Long Car Ride = Lots of Crochet Projects!!

I may have mentioned that crochet is my stress reliever...today I head out for Bangor (a 2 1/2 hour ride) to cheer on the Easton Bears Varsity Soccer Team, and especially my son, Jake, who plays goalie!  They are playing in the quarterfinals against a team they are all-to-familiar with...Bangor Christian!  If I crochet faster based on my level of stress, I should get A LOT accomplished on that long car ride!  GO BEARS!!

I was recently asked to crochet a "horse hat" for a little one.  Found these two patterns and I am really excited to give them a try!

Today's Subject: Slipper Boots!

These seem to be growing ever popular!  Must be the drop in temperature!  These slipper/boots are so soft and warm!  They are made with a double strand of Vanna's Choice yarn ... a bit more expensive, but so worth it!  Price is $20.00 per pair as they take 4 skeins of yarn!  Sizes are small (5/6), medium (7/8), and large (9/10).  If you are ordering a half size, I suggest ordering up.

As "Meme" to three little ladies, I have lots of experience with all things princess!  I was asked yesterday to create something totally out of the norm for me...a hat for boys!!!  Looking forward to this one!

Last post of the day!  Wasn't  sure about a red/black tiger (looks orange in the photo, but it is true red), but I'm happy with the look!  Good Luck to both the boys and girls soccer teams at FFMHS as they head into soccer playoffs this weekend!

Sweet little Piper on her first day at day care!  This might be one of my favorite little beanies ever.  I work with parents of some pretty darn cute kids!

So cute!!!  There's nothing I like more than to see photos of my projects being put to good use!  And such a sweet little model!

Liam's Owl Hat

Finished this little hat last night.  Tonight I will finish his little sister, Sylvie's, pink and purple version.  Their mom is a very special young woman; I am so blessed to be able to stay in contact.  It makes me smile to think of these little ones wearing their hats on cold winter mornings!

As far as addictions go, I guess crochet is not such a bad one to have!  It is a stress reliever and gives me something productive to do as I wait up for my almost-sixteen-year old to come home from his nights out with friends!
